Holly Greenberry is a regarded intersex activist and public speaker. She / they co founded intersexUk iUK alongside Dawn Vago, both intersex woman are nationally awarded human rights activists. Greenberry is from Yorkshire and lives in South West UK and runs a success holiday business, however her vocational work in Intersex human rights has been extensively recognised and awarded. This work initiated pre 2010 personally and became unified when she / they and Dawn Vago as well as legal academic Tanya NiMhuirthile formed the first ever specific intersex human rights NGO in the UK. Greenberry and Vago further developed the NGO. They alongside Imy Calloway Seven Graham and ‘Jo’ delivered he UK’s first ever image and statement based press article on intersex in the UK by courageously releasing their own public statements, profiles and images in the national press The Independant on Sunday written by Sarah Morrison the focus and reason in ‘going public’ was to highlight the abuses intersex children and adults suffer and highlight the ongoing breaches in human rights abuses and failures to treat intersex bodied people with equality within the UK and further afield - they used their own stories and future focus on co creating this ground breaking feature. The article in question was a fundamental catalyst in initiating awareness and raising the profile of intersex by intersex people themselves establishing the challenges and fight needed to protect intersex bodied children's and adult’s human rights and equality rights, with a core focus on bodily autonomy, bodily integrity and education. She / they have appeared on numerous UK awards lists recognising her / their extensive input in ongoing activism including that with UK governments, UN, academia and the media media and alongside they NGOs and Non profits. Holly Greenberry Pullen is also an Alumni of the university of Plymouth and a post graduate of Cardiff University she / they received the following Awards & Nominations:Pride Power List 2022. Facebook UK - ‘Press 4 Progress’, International Women’s Week, 2018 (Joint Key Note Opener) She / they have given extensive media interviews on BBC World News, BBC Woman’s Hour, Radio 5 Live, and pre her / their decision to go public she / they were featured on BBC1 Me My Sex and I; press had included The Guardian Newspaper, The Independent on Sunday, The Sunday Times. Holly Greenberry has featured in magazines and online magazines including , Diva, Pink News, Refinery 29 and many other publications. She / they have consulted with many global activists on vital international demands statements including The Malta Statement. Greenberry has been invited to collaborate with numerous NGOs and Non Profits nationally and internationally including Amnesty UK,ASTRAEA THE Equality Network, ILGA Europe, ILGA WORLD and many others. She / they were the first intersex woman to be invited by colleagues to address world member states at the UN Plenary in Geneva; and has worked with numerous activists and Colleagues alongside UN Treaty Bodies and UN Special Rapporteurs including UNCEDAW, UNCRC, UNCRPD, UNHCHR and THE UN Special Rapporteur in Torture. She / they also worked on projects with the Scottish Government mostly with the Government Equalities Office (GEO); Greenberry also worked on policy for the UK Home Office on intersex asylum seekers, the GEO on the review of The Gender Recognition Act and the Office of National Statistics (ONS). She / they have been instrumental in uniting various intersex teams to speak nationally, co develop surveys, and co developed an large online intersex support group - supporting individuals with intersex variations and family members including parents of children with intersex variations. She / they have delivered consultations on conference development and workshop structure to logistics and marketing of such events. She / they chaired notable intersex panels have also key noted - speaking on similar panel events and at many conferences. The focus and fundamental aim of her / their work is to ensure intersex bodied people have space and recognition to give lived testimony and highlight significant human rights abuses and inequalities of which the majority of such people experience, she / they have repeatedly stated the need for education, tools and recognition, remuneration and importantly celebration of intersectional diversity as key essentials to support positive recognition, change and legal protection. She / they have consulted on and or co written UK surveys, academic reports and media publications for a variety of professionals. Reports and surveys that Greenberry has worked on include those funded and used by the UK’s Government Equalities Office on intersex lives in the UK, and a key report collaborated with Pride Sports funded by Sport England and reports with Scotish colleagues at the Equality a Network for the Scotish government. She / they are also often invited to speak as a key note speaker to diverse groups and at public and private sector events including for example LEAP Sport and Pride Sport; and has regularly been invited as a university guest lecturer, speaking to medical students, law students and sociology students as well as researchers and departmental staff. Interestingly Greenberry’s back ground is in media having worked mostly in TV drama and occasionally in documentary (she / they were smuggled into Kosovo during the war to tell the story of the experience, survivors and victims) most of her / their work was on BBC1 Casualty, The Bill, plus some work on Absolutely Fabulous (Paris), and East Enders. She / they also briefly worked as a casino croupier for the RNLI and had trained to be a stunt woman / performer. Her focus now also includes politics specifically with an interest in education, SEND and children in care as well as womens rights and ongoing focus on intersex rights. She / they is also the mother and parent to two girls.
