Early life[edit]
Miguel was born in Washington DC and raised in Hyattsville Maryland, he was born second of three children to Dominican Parents, his father was a musician who played all types of instruments, Miguel grew up in a household listening to salsa, bachata, cumbia, merengue and to his father's instrumental harmonies, as he grew older he was introduced to Hip-hop's great Biggie Smalls, Tu-Pac, Bones thugs and Big Pun, within those two worlds is where Miguel would look within himself and make his distinctive style of music, he kept intact with his spanish at his young age due to him traveling regularly to Dominican Republic and even lived in Santiago for Four years, Miguel says "i'm 100% Dominican and i'm proud of that"
Music Career[edit]
1998-2005: Beginning of career
Miguel formed part of a underground group called 3MEN2 (Tremendo) at the age of 17, unfortunately everyone decided to go separate ways, as the years whent he was introduced to Dj Menace who was the first deejay in the washington Dc area to play Reggaeton, Dj Menace began to help Miguel gain exposure in the area booking him on shows and radio station, Miguel started to promote his first underground R&B single tittled "Vente Conmigo" which was leaked on the internet & gaiwed alot of popularity, in 2004 he was introduced to A member of Reggaeton duo Plan b who had watched his performances & was shocked how miguel had the crowd singing his song vente conmigo "i was shocked how an artist who's never came out on a reggaeton cd had crowd singing his song" says Chencho, Plan b introduced miguel to Boy Wonder Well-known Producer in the genre, miguel song "Me Gustan Todas" Produced by Cuba "El Monstrol de la melodia" was put in the compulation "EL DRATH 05" by Chencho records & Chosen few, the track became one of the top 5 singles on the album, that same year miguel got signed to Chosen Few Emerald ent.
