The First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Los Angeles (FAME) is a Christian congregation in Los Angeles, California, founded in 1872.[1] In 2009 FAME reported 'a congregation of more than 19,000 members and several dozen ministries within 13 corporations that bless and reach tens of thousands of seekers in greater metropolitan Los Angeles.'[1] On November 11, 2004, Rev. Dr. John J. Hunter was appointed to serve as FAME’s Senior Minister. [2] Rev. Hunter is married to Denise Hunter, who serves as the President and Chief Operating Officer of FAME’s corporate ministries. [2]
