Tony Siress

Anthony Glen Siress (born March 18, 1965) is a native and current resident of Mountain View, California, who has spent his entire career in high technology.

When he was a student at St. Francis High School, in Mountain View, California, Tony worked for West Coast Communications (now defunct) where he lead the installation and technical sales of the predecessor to what is now known as Cellular or PCS mobile phones. The mobile phone systems were based on AMPS technologies operating in UHF and VHF frequencies. Tony’s first phone was the Motorola DynaTAC 8000x and was the size of a briefcase. In addition to being involved in the infancy of what was to become one of the largest industries in the world, Tony convinced his management to sell and support an unknown, but innovative technology from a well known inventor Nolan Bushnell: Etak - the first consumer based navigation system. It included a CPU, digital compass, wheel based speed sensors and a cassette tape to used to store the maps.

Tony attended Santa Clara University and graduated in 1987 with a BS in Decision Information Sciences. During his time at Santa Clara University, Tony developed a number of start-ups in, his last being Siress, Inc.

In 1991, Tony joined Sun Microsystems as a Systems Engineer, but quickly moved on to become a very successful Sales Representative. Tony and his business partner, Mark Fitzpatrick, eventually left Sun to form Tidalwave Technologies. Tony and Mark pioneered high availability software in 1992 and developed the software FirstWatch. Tony became the Director of Sales for Japan and East Asia for Veritas Software as a result of the merger between Tidalwave Technologies and Veritas Software in that same year. It should be noted that FirstWatch was used as part of the computer systems that were responsible for broadcasting the 1994 World Cup Soccer Championships.

Tony returned to Sun Microsystems, Inc. and served as Senior Director responsible for Utility Computing Product Marketing. He also served numerous other strategic positions at Sun Microsystems, including Director of Marketing and Business Development for StarOffice, OpenOffice.org, Netscape Browser and CDE, as well as Area Sales Manager for Java TechnologyLicensing. Most recently, Tony is the founder and CEO of Siress AG Venture Capital which he founded in 2004. He is also a co-founder, chairman and managing partner of YOUservice LLC, a computer software start-up founded in Mountain View, California in 2004. In November 2006, YOUservice LLC formed YOUnite, Inc., a Delaware "C" Corporation, of which Tony is currently the CEO; YOUnite’s offices are in Mountain View, California.

In 2006 Tony attended the Stanford School of Business Strategic Marketing Program.

Tony Siress is also an alumna of Sigma Pi Fraternity's Zeta Eta Chapter at Santa Clara University. He served as its Chapter Director for a number of years upon graduating. In 2000, Tony established the Anthony Siress Endowment for Zeta-Eta scholarships and educational programs. Tony is the largest benefactor to Sigma Pi Fraternity and in 2004, he was honored with the Founders’ Award.
