Cokeham is an area within the village and civil parish of Sompting formed by the former hamlets of Lower and Upper Cokeham.

The civil parish covers an area of 10.35 square kilometres

and has a population of 8,514 persons (2001 census).

The name Cokeham (known as ? in the Domesday Book) is said to come from the ?.
