Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee appeared in various cameos in the films, from Spider-Man (2002) to Venom (2018), before his death in November 2018; He posthumously appears in a magazine cover in Let There Be Carnage and a store owner in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (also 2018), which was released only a month after his death. Throughout Raimi's trilogy, long-time colleague of his Bruce Campbell portrayed a ring annoucer, a snooty usher, and a maître d'. Campbell's character was planned to be revealed in Spider-Man 4 to Quentin Beck / Mysterio.[5][6] Jake Gyllenhaal later portrays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and through archival footage in No Way Home.

Max Favreau, son of Iron Man 2 (2010) director Jon Favreau, played a young boy wearing an Iron Man mask in the film who is rescued by Tony Stark. Homecoming director Jon Watts suggested in June 2017 to producer Kevin Feige the idea of retroactively establishing that the masked child was Parker, saying, "I mean, I remember watching that with Kevin Feige and everyone and being like, 'Does the math work on that?' He was like, 'It might, maybe'";[7] Holland has supported this idea.[8][9][7] The Sony's Spider-Man Universe version of Peter Parker appears in Madame Web (2024), played by an uncredited infant.

Recurring Batman film cast[edit]

Jane Adams also portrays Vicki Vale in Batman and Robin (1949), with the character being later portrayed by Kim Basinger in Batman (1989). Chris O'Donnell portrays Dick Grayson / Robin in Joel Schumacher's Batman films (1995–1997), though the character has not appeared in a theatrical film since.
