Sinivaali

Sinivaali according to Sri Sabda Ratnakaramu (SSR), a Telugu-Telugu Dictionary is Candra kaLa kAna vaccedu amAvAsya,(the moon light that appears on the new moon day, Goddess pArvati.

Sinivaali is also another name of Goddess Maha lakshmi according to Lakshmi sahasranaama.

It is easy to compare Goddess Lakshmi, the wife of Lord Vishnu,with both Chandra - the moon and Goddess pArvati the wife of Lord Shiva.

It is believed that, lakshmi and Candra are siblings because both have took birth on the day of churning of Milky Ocean (Ksheera Sagara Madhanam).

Ksheera Sagara Madhanam (Churning of Milky Ocean) was performed by both Deities and Devils in order to get Amrita (A drink for immortality). They have gone to Lord Vishnu who had turned himself as Koorma (The tortoise) to support the Mountain named Mandhara.

Koorma was floating on milky ocean on which the mandhara mountain was placed as the churner.

Then, Adhishesha, a Large Serpent was used as the rope to churn the milky ocean.

Then churning took place which gave rise to Kamadhenu, a cow which gives what ever you wish for.

After her, (Kamadhenu) came out the daughter of Samudra (Ocean) Maha Lakshmi and then came Garala (the Poison) which was took by Lord Shiva hence named thereafter as Neelakanta (the God with blue throat). Then came Candra, the moon which was again wore by Lord Shiva and hence named again as Candra Shekara, the god who wears moon as his crown.

That's why both Lakshmi and Candra are regarded as siblings.

And then Sinivaali as also known as Goddess pArvati because, it is believed that, Laksmi who lives in the Vakshasthala (the Chest part) of Lord Vishnu also lives on the face of Goddess pArvati.

This is the reason why, goddess pArvati's face glows like moon.

Aarudhra also wrote a book (not based on the movies) named Sinivaali, where he says in telugu that,

          EE Sinivaalini Ardhammu Chesikonutaku
          Naigantinkardhamittu
          candra kaLa kanabadu Amaasakidi peru
          sarwa Mangala Parvati sathiki noppu!!

Which means, to understand what Sinivaali mean according to Dictionary is the light that appears on the newmoon day (being either invisible or visible as a slender crescent) and applies to the name of Goddess pArvati who symbolizes good luck and good fortune.

He wrote the above four lines, to make understand all those people who that, Sinivaali means a Vaali (brother of Sugriva, in the Ramayana) in Sini world (Movies) as he too was associated to movies.
