Text display formatting[edit]

Special character formatting[edit]
Advanced text formatting[edit]
Strike-through[edit]
Strike-through text is formatted as follows:
Code entry on the editing page that looks like this: <strike>strike through this text</strike>
Will give you: strike through this text

Special editorial symbols[edit]

Realign talk left, squiggle-line[edit]

{{od}}

Example:

This talk comment is highly indented. Scott P. (talk) 01:15, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

The following comment has been duly "out-dented." Scott P. (talk) 01:15, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Not certain what "od" stands for. Probably, "out-dent."

WTML source code formatting[edit]

WTML comment syntax[edit]

"<!-- comment or code documentation here -->"

WTML displaying source code[edit]

Enclose the raw code that you want to display with the following: <nowiki>' 'raw code' '</nowiki>

Templates[edit]

TalkBack[edit]

Generally use the talkback template to try to steer any dialogue over to my own talk page, and copy over all prior thread components to my talk page whenever making a third contribution to a discussion thread.

Redirects[edit]

Example:

#REDIRECT [[TargetPageName]]
Unsigned[edit]

To use the templates for appending "missing signature notations" at the end of unsigned comments, use the following template:

Template:Unsigned2

Or simply use the following syntax:

{{subst:unsigned2|time, day month year (UTC)|user name or IP}}

  • Keep the (UTC) and paste over the following two items, which can be copied and pasted from the edit history of the page:
    1. The entry's time.
    2. Username or ip.

Setting up talk page archives[edit]

Article talk page archives[edit]

Use the same types of templates I used for the Talk:Bullying talk page archives. Also see Help:Archiving_a_talk_page.

In summary, name the new archive page as: Talk:ArticleName/Archive_N (where 'N' is the archive number.)

and place the: {{Archive banner}} template at the top of the active talk page, and the

{{talkarchivenav}} template on the top and bottom of each archive page.

User talk page archives[edit]
  1. Move the old talk page to its new home.
  2. Cut and paste the header section (including the archive box) of the newest archive into the header of the newest talk page (thus re-creating my talk page).
  3. Cut and paste the header section (including the archive box) from the last complete archive page over the newest archive.
  4. Delete the original talk page header section from the newest archive page.
  5. In the newest archive update the following:
    • Archive number.
    • Archive date period.
    • Archive box.
  6. In the newest Talk Page update the following:
    • The Archive box.
  7. Minimally, transfer at least the last discussion topic from the bottom of the newest archive page to the top of the new talk page.

  2. Towards the top of the page, in the "Tag filter" field, enter an "x."
  3. Click on he "Search" button.
