My thoughts behind the selections
[edit]When starting the search for what subject matter to pick on Wikipedia it is always hard to come up with only four as there is a vast amount of topics to pick from. I decided to pick the Battle of Culloden as I have read books and done papers on the subject. With an academic background on the battle and also having family ties to Scotland and as one of the most pivotal battles in Highland Culture I always want to learn more. I picked the topic of the Saint Bernard as I own a Saint Bernard and love the breed. They are great dogs with a very interesting history from the mix of breeds that made them, to their rescue background. Picking the Grimm Fairy Tales is due to the fact that I am addicted to them. I am a big fan of the TV show Once Upon a Time and Disney recreations of the classics. The Grimm's Fairy Tales are so different from these modern day creations that it is good to see where they started. Selecting the Morgan Library and Museum was because I am in love with this library. I went to see it last November when I was visiting family in New York City and it is a magical building and collection. I would like to learn more about how the collection came to be and how it opened to up to the public.
I found using Wikipedia to be quite easy. They seem to have an article on just about every subject and they always give you a vast amount of information. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the credibility of the information that you are reading. I actually found the Encyclopedia Britannica to be the hard one to search for items. You have to be very specific with Britannica which you do not need to be with Wikipedia, so searching newer articles or lesser known topics was harder in Britannica. Also their range of information is very condensed compared to Wikipedia which makes sense as Britannica does not have all of the people who contribute to Wikipedia.
