From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

500 Pieces a fast rock band from Brisbane Australia. Formed in 2003 the band currently consists of Jacob Elms (Vocals and Guitar), Mark Leaver (Bass) and Spencer Wright (Drums). Former members include Nicholas Stringer (Vocals and Guitar), Jarvis Cooper (Bass) and Jonathon Wright (Percussion).

Using national bands such as Carboard Castle and Finabah, 500 Pieces worked their way into the music scene along with large promotional reviews and interviews in the two largest street press music papers in Queensland Australia RAVE and TIME OFF. The band also came 34th overall out of over 700 national bands in the Tripple M unsigned find after spending over a week at number #1 with their song "thinking of you".

Leaving their original management company "Miss Daisy Management" for unknown reasons, 500 Pieces decided to hit the recording studio towards the end of 2009 to record their 5th EP. The bands music will be sent to MIDEM in France which is one of the largest business conventions for the music industry to see if their new style is recieved well by critics.

500 Pieces will Launch the new EP in their hometown of Bribane at the historic Princess Theater in April 2010.

It hasn't always gone from strength to strength with the band as poor decisions such as the north coast tour tore ties with a large local band Damzels in Distress which initally gave 500 Pieces it's first large gig in Brisbane. The tour was a failure for the band, as they played to less then 200 people over the entire week. The failure seemed to be lack of planning and execution by the independant company that put the tour on.
