Scott Barclay
[edit]Scott Barclay (born February 5, 1964) is an American financial writer, author, speaker and money coach. He became widely known through his best selling book "How The Investment Business REALLY Works".
Barclay frequently appears as a guest on many regional and national radio shows and hosts his own radio show called Money, Finance and Investing.
Barclay was born Scott Stephen Barclay in Edmonton, Canada and a 1982 graduate of Harry Ainlay High School. After attending the University of Alberta, he left for three years living in Toronto, Canada to concentrate on bodybuilding and a career in sports. He returned to finish his Bachelors in Physics and Psychology. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas.
Barclay began his career working for Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley) in Dallas, Texas. Barclay left the retail side of the brokerage business after he realized that he was a great salesman, maybe too good and that it was far too easy to sell investors products and investments that made more sense for him and less for them. Barclay then traded for a small hedge fund.
Later, Barclay began his work as a financial writer with "How The Investment Business REALLY Works" published in 2010.
