Fred Bild is a former Canadian diplomat and current adjunct professor at the University of Montreal, Centre of East AsianSudies. He also studied International Law in London and has a diploma from the [[École nationale d'administration]in Paris [1]
In 1979 he was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Thailand, Laos and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Later, in 1990, he became Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and to Mongolia. During his career as a Canadian Foreign Service Officer, Mr. Bild has also served in Japan, South Korea, Laos, and France. He was, moreover, chosen to preside over the UN Committee on Arms Control and Disarmament Agreements (1988-1990).
