Partha S Ghosh[edit]

Partha S. Ghosh, based in Boston, is a renowned strategist and an innovator of Business and Economic models. He currently enjoys policy level relationships with multiple organizations world wide. He runs his own boutique advisory firm Partha S Ghosh & Associates focused on policy and strategic issues. Earlier Mr. Ghosh was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company.


Career[edit]

In the last thirty two years as a true global citizen and a professional consultant to leaderships of prestigious organizations, corporates and governments, he has been involved in a broad spectrum of engagements, primarily focusing on strategic and policy issues, strategic and economic turnarounds, organization and leadership development in technology based industries, professional services organizations and conventional upstream industries across national borders including Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, EU, North & South America. He has served the senior managements of Fortune 500 Companies of companies as well as several high tech start ups in the US on global strategic issues.He also worked closely with heads of states and Governments on national level strategic issues. Just to name a few, he worked with, - the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia to explore strategic opportunities for the Kingdom beyond Oil, the TuSIAD and Leadership of Turkey to define Nation’s long term socio-economic strategy, the current Vice Minister of METI to define Japan’s strategy and economic policies in the Asia Pacific, and assisted the Finance Minister develop India’s international trade priorities.


Leadership[edit]

In various leadership forums, he has chaired committees focused on state-of-the-art issues related to management and governance. On specific courses /projects he has been active at MIT on strategic management /policy design and leadership issues,[1] and more recently with the Tufts University on Globalization & Innovation[2]. His clients view him as a “creative problem solver” and a “visionary leader.” Several CEOs who have worked with him view him as a leader who “inspires leaders to build lasting legacies”. Given his wide range of interests from education reforms, philosophy, international relationships, science & engineering, business & economics, country management, public service, and his experience across cultures and industries, people who know him well, describe him as “modern renaissance man”[3]. Recently along with a team of missionary professionals he has founded The Boston Pledge, a non profit voluntary organization to stimulate bottom-up entrepreneurship & socio-economic development, and to develop environment friendly technologies[4].

Education[edit]

Mr. Ghosh has two advanced degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts where he studied from 1975 to 1977. He holds Master's Degrees in (i) Chemical Engineering with emphasis on New Energy Systems & Biotechnologies, and (ii) Business Administration a joint program with Harvard Business School with concentrations in Finance, Information Technology, and International Business. He was A Rotary Foundation Fellow. He obtained his honors, Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering, at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kharagpur, India, and won the Institute medal as Number One graduating student of his class.
