Sky Blue Mad

I started writing on Wikipedia because of my obsession with Coventry City FC. My first experience of Highfield Road was in Feb. 1967, a 2-1 win for the City over Div. 2 promotion rivals Carlisle, a game remembered for the barge by City centre forward Bobby Gould on the Carlise Keeper Alan Ross which resulted in the latter being sent off for his retalitory punch which knocked out cold the former!. I loved everything about the game and have missed only a handful of home games since. I realise that this is always going to be an unrequited love affair doomed to ulitmate disappointment. After more than 40 years however I am still hooked and have to face the fact that it is a situation that will never change. I particularly like adding to articles about players who were a part of my youth. My favourite ever player is Tommy Hutchison and I have added bits and pieces from a Coventry perspective to his page. I have created one page myself which was on another of my 70's heros, the Coventry full back Graham Oakey who unfortunately had his career cut short through injury. I did write an article on the origin of the Sky Blue nickname but this was, I assume, too close to the general Coventry City page and did not survive. I have to admit I struggle with some of the technicalities of Wiki pages. Boxes, and lists I have not mastered yet. Being from an Irish family I am interested in all things Irish which includes the Republics football team. I have only watched one full international, a friendly at Landsdowne Road, a 1-0 win against China, goal scored by future Sky Blue Clinton Morrison. When I retire I hope to join the RoI supporters club and so attend a lot more games.
