Notation Software (Notation Software Germany GmbH) is a German musical software company based in Utting am Ammersee, Germany. It produces scorewriter and MIDI music sequencer software. Notation Software is privatedly held.
The company was founded in 1994 by Mark Walsen as Notation Software Inc., a US corporation licensed in the State of Washington of the United States of America. Notation Software Inc. was one of the first music software companies on the market. The first product was MidiNotate launched in the mid 1990s. In 2013, the company was transitioned to new ownership to German under the legal name Notation Software Germany GmbH[1].
The focus of Notation Software is to support "everyday musicians" in their day-to-day work in creating and enjoying music.
