Gauri Nair

Gauri Nair is a multilingual actress who has acted in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Arabic language films. Gauri is the grand daughter of AV Menon and Perumpilly Ammini Amma from Thrissur who participated in the freedom struggle. Gauri, holds Master degrees in Mass Communication and Human Resources and she is also a trained dancer and a writer.

Personal life

Gauri was born in Thrissur to Suresh Babu and Girija S Nair.

Career

In 2015, she made her debut in the Kannada film industry (Sandalwood) with Pattabhisheka. The hero of the film was Yuvraj Kalyan Kumar, the son of Kannada superstar Late Shri Kalyan Kumar. In 2016, Gauri was chosen to play the female lead in the Arabic film Al hara by Omani Arabic director Khalid Al Sadjali. Adil Musa Al Sadjali and Shaker Nasser Al Balushi were the other main characters in the film. In 2017, Samuthirakani also made her debut in Tamil with the film Thondan in the lead role. In 2018, she acted in the Malayalam film Two Days starring Samuthirakani. Kalabhavan Nisar was the director of the film. In 2021, she returned to Kannada with the film Chaddi Dost Kaddi Alladisbutta opposite Oscar Krishna. In 2021, she did Rajesh Selva directed the Sarathkumar-starrer Tamil film Irai. In 2022, the film Naina, directed by Sridhar Sia, was officially selected for the 13th Bengaluru International Festival.
