Live Roulette

STV Casino is an interactive gaming strand in Scotland on STV and online, airing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday (although currently it is also being broadcast on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) - between around midnight and 3am on Scotlands biggest commercial broadcaster STV. The STV Casino is operated by NetPlayTV, which also operates SuperCasino and Challenge Jackpot.[1][2] STV Casino was the first terrestrial interactive roulette show to air in the United Kingdom thanks to taking advantage of a new OFCOM ruling permitting broadcasting of a interactive gambling show on a major broadcast station.[3] NetPlayTV soon signed a contract to broadcast Live Roulette (part of SuperCasino) on another terrestrial television network in the United Kingdom, FIVE.[4]

The programme (STV Roulette) allows people to place their chips on the roulette table by watching online or on TV and phoning the designated call centre number (shown on screen).

STV Casino is a fully interactive programme where players and viewers can e-mail the studio with comments, feedback, questions and suggestions, or even add to the discussion of the topics being covered.

Presenters[edit]

STV Roulette has a team of fully trained and licensed croupiers who present the show and deal the game. Each show usually has two presenters (male and female) who alternate every 30 minutes throught the programme. The croupiers are:

The Game[edit]

The game of roulette is exactly the same as found in a real casino. STV Roulette uses the single zero European wheel rather than the American double zero version. During the show, each game is open for two minutes and a new number is spun approximately every three minutes.

Method of Play[edit]

Chips are placed on the table by means of either a telephone menu, using the freephone number displayed or via their website where a variety of classic casino games are also available to play.

The Odds[edit]

Roulette is a fixed odds game, and STV Roulette operates in exactly the same way as a real casino.

Restrictions[edit]

You have to be 18 years or older to become a member and play roulette on STV Casino. The service is not open to players in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

Winners[edit]

After each spin, every winner from that game is displayed on screen, along with the amount of chips won, and the names are also read out by the presenter.
