Cornerstone OnDemand Inc. is a global enterprise software company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It provides cloud-based talent management solutions and currently services more than 12.9 million users across 190 countries and in 41 languages. It ranked no. 156 on Deloitte's 2012 Technology Fast 500 list of the fastest growing technology companies in North America. [2]

Origins[edit]

The company was founded in November 1999 by Cornerstone CEO Adam Miller [3], CFO Perry Wallack and Steven Seymour, executive VP of strategic accounts. In March 2011, it went public on the NASDAQ Global Market under the stock symbol CSOD. [4] The company has had one of the better performing IPOs in the technology sector since that time and is considered to be among the fastest growing publicly traded software companies worldwide. [5]

Acquisition of Sonar Limited/Sonar6[edit]

  • In 2012, Cornerstone acquired New Zealand-based Sonar Limited (Sonar6), a cloud-based talent management company that serves small businesses globally. [6] Sonar6 has been rebranded as CSB (Cornerstone Small Business).

Cornerstone OnDemand is headquartered in Los Angeles, California with offices in Auckland, New Zealand; Hong Kong; London; Madrid; Mumbai, India; Munich; Paris; Sydney, and Tel Aviv, Israel. Cornerstone has its software translated into 38 languages, servicing more than 10.3 million users across 186 countries. [7]

Foundation[edit]

The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation was developed in 2010. It helps to provide non-profits with talent management software and services for managing their people and increasing their impact in the communities they serve. The nearly 30 non-profits participating in its Strategic Partnership Program, under which the organizations receive Cornerstone OnDemand's software and services at no cost for two years, include Boys and Girls Club of America, Feeding America, Oxfam America, Project Hope, Save the Children and Teach for America. [8] Other Foundation initiatives include the HR Pro Bono Corps [9] and technology innovations such as the Cornerstone Volunteer Management module. [10]

Products and services[edit]

All of Cornerstone's products and services are Software as a Service (SaaS) and can be accessed in the cloud anytime through an Internet-enabled mobile device or computer.

Cornerstone Learning Cloud[edit]

This learning management system (LMS) helps organizations to manage, deliver and track various types of education and training programs. This includes e-learning, collaborative learning, instructor-led training (ILT), and compliance and certifications. Cornerstone was ranked as a leader in the Gartner 2011 Magic Quadrant for Corporate Learning Systems report. [11]

Cornerstone Performance Cloud[edit]

This solution allows organizations to facilitate and track employee performance management initiatives such as goal setting, performance reviews and competency management. Succession planning capabilities help organizations manage and address workforce planning issues. Compensation management tools help users manage all types of employee compensation programs. Cornerstone was ranked as a leader in Gartner 2011 Magic Quadrant for Employee Performance Management Software report. [12]

Cornerstone Recruiting Cloud[edit]

Launched in 2012 [13], the Recruiting Cloud provides capabilities for managing and tracking all aspects of the talent acquisition process, such as sourcing, employee referrals, applicant tracking, hiring and onboarding. The solution also allows organizations to manage their employer brand as part of the recruitment process.

Cornerstone Extended Enterprise[edit]

Organizations use this solution to engage and enable their extended enterprise – their extended networks of partners, suppliers, resellers, distributors and customers. This includes tools for training and certifications, as well as social networking and collaboration.

Cornerstone Mobile[edit]

Cornerstone Mobile provides Cornerstone subscribers with access to information and training courses in the Cornerstone system via mobile devices.

Growth Edition (GE)[edit]

Formerly known as Sonar6 and CSB, this solution allows small businesses to facilitate and track employee performance management initiatives such as goal setting, performance reviews and competency management.

In 2012, Cornerstone was a Gold Award winner in the 10th Annual American Business Awards. It was named Best New Human Capital Management Solution for the Cornerstone Recruiting Cloud and Cornerstone Volunteer Management. [14]
