Fat Amy

Fat Amy was an American rock/alternative band from mid-Michigan popular in the mid to late 1990s. It consisted of (at various times) Bob Guiney (vocals), Mark Meyers (guitar), Kirk Reedy (guitar), Matt Jackson (bass), Britt Hancock (bass), Brad Trimas (drums), Jeff Gensterblum (drums).

Fat Amy released its first album, Ice Cream Headache, in 1995 and toured vigorously in support, building a sizeable following. Original member Brad Trimas was replaced in 1996 with J. Pico Gensterblum, and Mark Meyers left the band as well.

The band then self-released an EP titled "Five Way Switch" in 1997 before signing a deal with the independent label Rubber Records. Additional tracks were recorded and "Five Way Switch" was re-released as a full length album in 1998 under the new label.

In 1999, bassist Matt Jackson left the band to pursue other interests and he was replaced by Britt Hancock. In the following years, the band continued to tour vigorously but was unable to break out, and the members parted ways in 2001.

Lead singer Bob Guiney's appearance on reality TV show "The Bachelorette" brought renewed interest to the band's music, and Bob signed a record deal with Wind-up Records.[1] With the help of Gensterblum and Jackson, along with Andy Patalan, Joel Ferguson, and Tim Krukowski, revamped some old Fat Amy songs and wrote some new ones to release a new album titled "Three Sides" under the name "The bob Guiney Band". "Three Sides" peaked at #114 on the Billboard Album Chart[2] and the band toured in support of the album for about a year, but has played only a few intermittent shows since.
