Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Engineering or A.M.S College of Engineering (Tamil:ஆலிம் முகம்மது சாலிஹ் கல்லூரி) is affiliated to Anna University, is located in Muthapudupet, Avadi, IAF, Chennai. The college is Science and Arts courses offered.

Chairman Desk :

Alhaj. Dr. S. M. Shaik Nurddin founded the Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust after his father's name in the year 1990.

The College object and aims of the society is to promote education of all types and grades among the people of the country in general and in particular among the backward communities with a view to accelerate the liquidation of ignorance, superstition and illiteracy. The term 'Backward Community' mean and include Muslims and all other sections of the Nation who are educationally, socially and economically backward.

The trust's first educational establishment, Aalim Muhammed Salegh Industrial Training Institute, located at Muthapudupet, Avadi - IAF, Chennai - 600 055, started in the year of 1993. Since we step into educational service we are doing top eminence service. We assure we will persist the same in forth coming decades.

Milestones:

The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of our College conducted a national Level Technical symposium Kognisurge'07 on 06.09.07. The symposium was a grand success with more than 100 technical papers pouring in from across the country.Other events conducted were Technical quiz, Dumb-z, Gaming, Circuit debugging etc.

Eminent personalities in the respective field were invited to judge various events and prizes were awarded to the winners in the events.

AEE also organized a one day Workshop on "Computing, Conditioning & controlling Techniques applied to Electrical Engineering" on February 9th 2008. About 50 faculty and students from various engineering institutions participated. The following eminent professors from frontier institutions in India addressed these participants by presenting current scenario in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a National Level Technical Symposium "TECHFIERE 07' on 12th September 2007

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Information Technology organized a National Level Technical Symposium "METEURKEN"07" on September 11th 2007.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Information Technology students and other department of our AMSCE students organized a National Level Entrepreneurship Festival on 20th and 21st Feb 2008.

A National Level Technical Symposium - Tech Fiere 07 was conducted on 12th September, 2007 by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The chief guest was Mrs. Fathima Farooq, Assistant Vice President, Polaris software Labs, Chennai.

The Department of Management Studies conducted a one day National Symposium on "Emerging Dimensions of strategic Human Resource Management" on the 6th of March 2008.

Mr.R. Raja kumar, Deputy General Manger - Human Resources, Hyundai Motors India Ltd., delivered the inaugural address. He highlighted the need for organizations to focus on linking its employees with its goals and aligning HR Processes to meet demands of customers. Dr.S.M. Shaik Nurddin, Founder and Chairman, Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust presided over the function.

Air Cmde GR Prasad, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Avadi delivered the valedictory address. In his speech GR Prasad impressed the gathering that India's emergence as a reckonable economic power and impact of globalization have thrown up new dimensions in every sphere of socio-economic, Political, technological, intellectual, intellectual, scientific, industrial and service sector enterprises, in this context, he stressed successful organizations will be those that are able to evolve a suitable strategy manage processes intelligently and efficiently, maximize employee contribution and commitment as well as create conditions for seamless change

Felicitations were offered by Janab shaik Athaullah, Managing Trustee, Aalim Muhammed salegh Trust.

The symposium was a grand success with papers pouring in from the southern states from both corporates and academia on the whole about 50 papers received on the themes and sub-themes of the symposium were accepted for inclusion in the souvenir released to mark the occasion.

The Department of Management studies will be conducting a two Day Workshop on usage of the statistical package for Social Sciences on the 5th and 6th of May, 2008.

The Department of English conducted a state Level Conference on TECHNOLOGY AND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE on 12.09.2007.

Also it has actively participated in organizing a Two Day National Level Entrepreneurship Event Named TECHNOPRENEURSHIP 2008 conducted on 20th & 21st February 2008.

CPD CELL:

Career Planning & Development Cell was established in the year 2003.CPDC is headed by Prof. R.Ravikumar. He has obtained his B.Sc Degree and Masters Degree in Social Work specialized I Personnel Management, Industrial Relation and Labour Welfare from University of Madras. He has also obtained his Masters Degree in Business Administration from REC, Trichy, Bharathidasan University.

He has worked for more than 2 decades in different industry vertical in the fields of sales and marketing, human resources management and training and placements. The industry verticals include software, health care, consumer durables and industrial, hearth care, consumer durables and industrial products marketing was expert knowledge in product launching, channel building and development, sourcing channels and recruitment techniques adopted by various software industries in India freshers hiring.

Life Member of ICSW (Indian Council for Social Welfare).

Objective:

The aim of Career Planning & Development cell is to provide training to Engineering & Management students from the first year itself and impart various soft skills to enable them to acquire employable skills completely by the third year. Detailed planning is carried out at the beginning of the 7th semester for placements. Smart Training Resources was contracted to train the students in aptitude, reasoning and soft skills for a duration of 40 hours. Meticulous planning is done to enable the students to participate in the recruitment drive organized by CMM level 5 Companies and place them in targeted companies lime Infosys, Satyam, L&T, Cambridge Solutions, iGate, Wipro, CTS, Syntel, Schenider Electric, Axles India, Amalgamation, Bharti Airtel, BYD Electronics, Johnson Lifts, Asahi Glass, ETA ASCON, Cease fire, Sutherland, etc

  • The Career planning & development cell of the Institute has the responsibility of facilitating the Campus Recruitment Programme for all disciplines.
  • The Placement Office initiates and nurtures contacts with leading organizations for campus visits and is functional throughout the year.
  • It endeavors to match the aspirations of the students with the needs of the Industry. It also assists the students for Summer/Winter Industrial training.
  • Arranging industry oriented projects for all the students.
  • The T&P Division also provides counseling and guidance to the students regarding the visiting organizations, selection procedure, preparation methods & resources thereby ensuring that the students are adequately equipped to face the recruitment tests.
  • A team of Student Placement Coordinators duly assists the T&P Office.
  • The central computer facilities are adequate for an online test for about 200 students at one time.
  • The auditorium, seminar halls and Interview cubicles, equipped with audio-visual aids provide the ideal venue for campus selection activities like Presentations, Written Test, Group Discussion and Interviews.
  • Facilitate personality development workshop
  • Conducting regular Aptitude / Technical training by engaging out side trainers/ institutes & also conducts regular tests for final/ prefinal year students.
  • Arranging guest lectures and training programmes in soft skills and technical areas to enhance the competency level in employable skills.
  • Organising Career guidance lectures.
  • Co-ordinating MOU work with industries for Institution- Industry Tie up.
  • Training to faculty members at frequent intervals for FDP certification. The center also arranges training of teachers for their professional development and career improvement.
  • A good data bank of the alumni.
  • The Placement Office ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangement and hospitality for officials of the visiting companies.
