SRI SIVANANDA SARMA (1911-1969)

Poojya M.C. Sivananda Sarma, the founder of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust was born on 22-01-1911 in a family of common peasants in a village in T.Narasipura Taluk, Karnataka. After his early education, he went to Siddhaganga to study Sanskrit. He then studied at Sri Chamarajendra Sanskrit College, Bangalore and later proceeded to Allahabad to complete his "SAHITYA VISHARADA".Here came the turning point. Inspired by Madan Mohan Malaviya, who was then doing yeomen services to our land in the field of education by starting the Hindu University at Banaras, Sri Sivananda Sarma set about his task. Extensively traveling to various educational institutions of eminence like Shantiniketan and Kangadi Gurukula founded by Swami Shraddhananda and he gained deep insight into the field of education and set about his mission. Actively participating in the freedom struggle, he had to serve a jail term as a freedom fighter. The efficient administrator in him saw him serve the Mysore State as a member of the District Board and the Legislative Assembly for a number of years. He founded the R.V.Institution in 1940 and was the Founder Secretary till 2-01-1969 when he attained eternal bliss.
