Dr. Zafar Ali Choudry (Urdu: ظفرعلی چوہدری ) is the vice-chancellor of Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad since July 2018.

Early life and career[edit]

Zafar Ali Choudry graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan in 1985. Then he completed his fellowship in surgery in 1992. He was appointed as a professor in 2004 and later became Chairman, Department of Surgery at Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. He was appointed as Principal, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, Sialkot in 2012.

Medical fraternity and Health Department Government of Punjab is fully aware of his role in establishing and managing newly created medical college and medical university in Sialkot and Faisalabad. Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College, Sialkot and Faisalabad Medical University grown into an established institution in few years which speaks of his contribution and dedication in building up these institution.

He has extensive experience and good reputation as a scholar and academic in medical field since 1992. Having involved in many medical institution of Lahore, Sialkot and Faisalabad, He has contributed a lot in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate. His contribution in research and class teaching is evident by the papers, as he has published and presented in national international conferences. He has developed new surgical procedures and surgical instruments which are being practice and used in all over Pakistan.

Awards and recognition[edit]

• Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) Award on 23 March 2018 by the Government of Pakistan for his services in the field of medical education in Pakistan.
