Casualties

[edit]

Demographer Vladimir Žerjavić estimated that about 215,000 people died in the Bosnian war and that among them were 160,000 Bosniaks, 30,000 Croats, and 25,000 Serbs. Despite bitter fighting between Croats and Bosniaks only about 2,000 Bosniaks were killed by Croat force while the remaining 158,000 were killed by Serb forces. Of the 30,000 Croats killed only 2,000 were killed by Bosniaks and 28,000 were killed by Serb forces. Of the 25,000 Serbs killed, Žerjavić estimates half were killed by Bosniaks and half by Croats.[1]
