The 2022 Hangzhou Spark season will be the fourth season of the Hangzhou Spark's existence in the Overwatch League and their first season under head coach Park "Changgoon" Chang-geun.
Preceding offseason
[edit]On October 4, 2021, the Spark announced that they were parting ways with damage player Seo "SeoMinSoo" Min-soo and supports Tong "ColdEst" Xiaodong, Liu "M1ka" Jiming, and Park "idk" Ho-jin, as well as assistant coach Chen "U4" Congshan.[1] Throughout November, the Spark announced their 2022 roster and staff, which included the signing of former Seoul Dynasty head coach Park "Changgoon" Chang-geun as their new head coach, as well as former OWL players Huang "Xiao Gui" Tsung-yu and Gong "Miro" Jin-hyuk as assistant coaches.[2] The team promoted damage players Li "Pineapple" Zhuo and Kim "AlphaYi" Jun from their Overwatch Contenders academy team, Bilibili Gaming, and signed Kim "irony" Hyeong-woo and Wu "Superich" Gengtuo.[3][4]
