Georgi Andonov -artist
[edit]A Bulgarian born artist, Lived and worked in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Education
[edit]1989 – BA degree, Dechko Yzunov college of fine art, Kazanlak. Andonov graduated by getting a Master degree from the National Art Academy in 1990. He has managed an owned galleries in Beirut, Lebanon, and has exhibited extensively in Bulgaria, where he’s resided since 2006. He has also exhibited in London, Dubai, Greece, Prague, Berlin, Istanbul, Vienna, and Los Angeles. He opened Colo Tempo Gallery (1993-1995) and in 1996 his own gallery in Beirut, Lebanon. Since 1998 Andonov works with the largest Lebanese art dealer Fadi Mogabgab Gallery.
Work and collections
[edit]You can find Georgi Andonov’s works in private and public collection mainly in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States of America.
In 2003 he began working with the William Merill Gallery in Los Angeles (USA), and since 2007 with the Boutique 1 Gallery in Dubai (UAE), Martin McNab Art Gallery San Diego and Big White Gallery.
Curious: At the headquarters of Jack Daniels, one of the best-selling American whiskeys in the world, Georgi Andonov's painting "Sunset" is painted - oil painting, measuring 2.5 / 1.3 meters. It was sold to the alcohol giant by William Merrill Gallery, with whom Georgi Andonov has a contract to represent him in the United States and Canada. The same gallery sold another work to the artist of no less famous buyer - the world-famous hotel in Las Vegas "Mandalay bay". The picture is called "Sunset" and is from the "Umbrellas" cycle. It is painted with oil painting, depicts the umbrellas from the beach of Gradina camping and has an impressive size of 4 m / 2 m. It is currently in the owner's private residence.
