The 2009 season for the Cofidis cycling team is ongoing. As a UCI ProTeam, they are automatically invited and obliged to attend every event in the UCI ProTour. They have also been invited to every event in the inaugural UCI World Calendar, though they declined to send a squad to the Giro d'Italia.
Most of Cofidis' victories in 2009 have been lesser classifications in stage races. Their one overall win in a stage race came from Julien El Fares in the Tour de Wallonie. They won the mountains classification of the Vuelta al País Vasco with Rein Taaramäe, the sprint classification of the Volta a Catalunya with Samuel Dumoulin, the points classification of Tirreno-Adriatico with El Fares, and the mountains classification of the Vuelta a España with David Moncoutié. They also have two victories in single-day races on the season. The team's manager, as it has been for the last five seasons, is Eric Boyer.
Cofidis' 2009 season is largely a rebuilding year, as several notable cyclists left the team after 2008, with few joining. Their application for renewal of their ProTour license for 2010 was declined on 29 September, on the basis that they have not been competitive enough to merit it.
