Buff City Soap Co. is an American retailer founded in Bartlett, Tennessee that sells plant-based soap and skincare products. As of January 2020, there are 32 retail stores across 10 different states.[1]
History
[edit]Buff City Soap was founded as Bartlett Soap Company in 2013 by Brad Kellum,[2] who was inspired to make his own soaps after noticing a difference between the soap he picked up at Whole Foods versus what he usually bought at the grocery store. [3] Joined by his girlfriend Jennifer Ziemianin, he started experimenting in his garage to create a soap made from plants.[4] [5] After experimenting and finding a recipe, they began by selling their soaps to friends, family, and at farmers markets. [6] [7] In December of 2013, the first brick and mortar store was opened in Bartlett, Tennessee. [8]
Services
[edit]Buff City Soap sells a variety of plant-based soaps, lotions, shower oils, bath bombs, and accessories. [9] Each store is equipped with a “Soap Makery”, where every product sold in that store is made [10]. In addition, visitors can use this soap makery to make products of their own, or can watch an associate make them. [11]
