Bob Zimmermann is a PostDoc in the department of Molecular Evolution and Development at the University of Vienna focusing on Nematostella vectensis genomics. Previously, he was a PhD student in Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna, working on using Genomic SELEX for the discovery of genomic aptamers involved in the RNA-Protein interaction network, including methods of high-throughput sequencing analysis. His PhD advisor is Renée Schroeder. Previously he studied Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis, focusing in Bioinformatics, and at the University of Michigan, focusing in Educational Software and User Interfaces for children on Palm Pilots.
