'South Armidale United Football Club or 'The Scorpions' is a football club based in Armidale, New South Wales that competes in the top tier of local football in northern NSW in the Northern Inland Premier League. The club was formed in 1994, making it one of the newest clubs in its region. The main colours of SAUFC are Green and yellow, with its home ground being at the New England Mutual Sportsground. The club has a solid junior football base whilst enjoying a vast amount of success in its senior divisions. Most notably is the clubs success in its premier competitions, having been a part of state and local competitions, the club has gone on to be Northern inland Premier league champions and Mann Cup champions on numerous occasions. The club has also been successful in other small league cups and divisions.
