[edit]List of Ghana national football team World Cup and African Cup of Nations squads The Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup are the main competitive tournaments that the Ghana national football team enters. The finals of the World Cup is held every four years while the African Cup of Nations tournaments have been held every two years generally. Ghana became an independent nation in 1957 and first competed in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament when they hosted it in 1963. The first time Ghana qualified for the World Cup was in 2006. The squads that were involved in both these tournaments are listed below.
