Hamidreza Rouhi (April 1382 - November 27, 1401) was a model and Iranian citizen living in Tehran, who was killed by direct fire from the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the 1401 Uprising of Iran in the evening of Friday, November 27, 1401. He became known as Barun's son because of the movie in which he is riding a motorcycle and sings a piece of Alireza Talischi's "Qaf" song (Barun came and remembered you are stronger).[1][2]

to be killed[edit]

Hamidreza Rouhi was killed by a "war arrow" during the protest uprising in Iran on the evening of 26 November 1401 in Shahr Zeba neighborhood.

Narrative of sources affiliated with the government[edit]

IRGC-affiliated news agencies tried to introduce him as "Basij" but his friends published pictures on social networks that show Hamidreza Rouhi shouting slogans and confronting the security forces. After the publication of these pictures, the Javan newspaper, close to the Pasdaran Guards, wrote, "Hamidreza Rouhi has a history of being a regular member of the Basij, but on Thursday night he participated in the street protests as a protester." Noor Pahlavi published Hamidreza Ruhi's message to himself, changing the news of his "martyrdom" to "death". The Hamshahri newspaper website attributed his death to the protesters and claimed that "some time ago, John Bolton and some anti-Iranian officials announced that they had armed the "protesters" in Iran."

Funeral[edit]

Various areas in Tehran witnessed protests on the evening of Friday, November 27, 1401, and a group of people also gathered on Nilofar II street in Shahrzaiba and in front of Hamidreza Rouhi's house and chanted slogans "Death to the dictator" and "This year, the house, Seyyed Ali Sarguneh" . To prevent the spread of the protest, security forces were sent to Shahrzaiba. His funeral ceremony was held on Saturday, November 28 in Tehran. The participants in the ceremony chanted slogans such as "Death to the dictator", "Where is justice" and "This full flower is sacrificed for the country". Also, in the evening of the same day, a number of citizens and relatives of Hamidreza Rohi placed candles and flowers in front of his house to commemorate him. At his third ceremony, which was held on November 29 in Behesht Zahra, Tehran, the crowd chanted "Kill Hamidreza, call it Basij".

Fortieth ceremony[edit]

Hamidreza Rohi's 40th ceremony was held on the 8th of December in Behesht Zahra, Tehran, with the presence of a large number of protesters, which turned violent with the intervention of the police and the firing of tear gas at the participants. Protesters chanted slogans such as "Hamidreza is dead, Seyed Alei is dead".

reactions[edit]

Actress Lily Rashidi published a photo of Hamidreza Rohi with her on her Instagram and wrote: "Dear Hamidreza, everyone thought you were my son!" You are the same age as my son and today I heard that you followed your dreams and went to the sky with a rainbow. I will not forget your laughter and joy and eyes full of desire, we are getting more and more angry every day.
