Edward Byrd Davis is a vertebrate paleontologist from the United States at the University of Oregon. His research focus is on mammalian paleoecology, specifically targeting ungulates. Topics of particular interest include the evolution and development of headgear in ruminant artiodactyls, changes in macroecology over time, and conservation paleobiology. He is affiliated with the UO Department of Earth Sciences and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History.

Biography[edit]

Dr. Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1999. He went on to received his Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2005. He was a postdoctoral researcher for the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology from 2006-2007 before coming to the University of Oregon.
