Bohlen & Doyen Bauunternehmung GmbH (BoDo) is a construction company involved in the areas of gas, water, waste water, electricity, telecommunications and oil. In addition to construction the company is engaged in services, plant engineering, filling station technology and offshore cable laying. During early 2011 the company was merged with SAG-Gruppe, Langen, Germany.[1]
History
[edit](BoDo) was started by Heinrich Bohlen und Heinrich Doyen in 1950 as a trucking company. In the year in 1962 entering into the hydraulic engineering sector the company slowly expanded its business to water pipeline construction and siphon construction until the late 1960's. 1977 the company went international building water pipeline at the Persian gulf and during the 1980's the company enlarged its business competencies in areas such as prefabricated gas pressure control systems and its corresponding heating systems, harbor construction, electrical technology (submarine cables and overhead lines) measurement technology and horizontal direct drilling. Following the ISO 9001 certification 1995, the company increased its involvement in international projects in 2000's. In the late 2000's BoDo marked the entry of various new business fields such as regenerative gas-processing plant, horizontal direct drilling, LPG filling stations and submarine cable laying Offshore wind farms.[2]
Since the beginning of 2011, (BoDo) is marged to the group parent company SAG Gruppe of Langen. Taken together, the two companies have more than 150 years of experience as service-providers and partners to energy supply companies. With their future nearly 7,500 employees in over 125 locations, the group has a nationwide network of locations in Germany.[3]
