Members[edit]

Jaisi Sheehan - Vocals / Keys / Guitar

Simon Davenport - Bass / Vocals

Luke Scott - Drums / Vocals

Johnny Lyon - Guitar / Vocals

Formation[edit]

The band formed after Jaisi Sheehan quit The Electric Confectionaires following a number of lineup changes and an extended break from the public eye in mid 2010.[2]

Sheehan met bassist Simon Davenport whilst playing in The Electric Confectionaires, soon becomming close friends. It was Davenport and Sheehan who auditioned for the other members of the band, settling on the current lineup in early 2011.[3]

Originally, former Electric Confectionaire Jesse Sheehan was set to play guitar. However, following a long stint of auditions, current guitarist Johnny Lyon ( Son of NZ rock legends Hello Sailor guitarist Harry Lyon ) was given the role.[4]

Luke Scott became The Psychs drummer in January 2011 and played on the recordings for the bands debut 'Roaches EP' after only one practice session. Alongside Jesse Sheehan, The DHDFD's drummer Tom Bisset was part of the original lineup.

History[edit]

Having only played a couple of live shows Auckland student radio station 95bFM recieved and playlisted what was planned as a demo of the bands debut single 'Roaches'. The track recieved significant airplay and was the highest played track on bFM by some margin for a number of weeks. The track was made free to download online soon after.[5]

Having gained the attention of listeners with their debut single, the band released 'Gee I' soon after. The track again was a success and along with Roaches sat at the top of the 95bFM top ten charts for over a month.[3]

Following a string of headline shows the band toured around NZ with The Checks and The Earlybirds in December 2010. In January 2011 the band were named on the bill for the bFM Summer Series alongside Die Die Die and The Naked and Famous.[6]

Roaches EP[edit]

On March 9th 2011 the band officially released their debut 'Roaches EP'.[7]

Whilst in the studio the band tried to replicate early Motown recording techniques, looking for a lo-fi 60's sound.[4]

An album is currently in production with a planned release for late 2011.
