The Sam's Town 250 for the 2007 NASCAR Busch Grand National Series season was held on September 27, 2007. The race was marred by 25 cautions, all for cars wrecking or blowing tires, a record for the 2007 season and at Memphis Motorsports Park, where the race was held. (The record for Busch Series cautions is 26, with the 1992 Mountain Dew 400 located at Hickory Motor Speedway.) Marcos Ambrose won his NASCAR pole and David Reutimann won his first race in 62 starts, leading 193 of the 252 laps. The race was televised on ESPN by Marty Reid, Rusty Wallace and Randy LaJoie, who cut-out of broadcasting during the post-race burnout by Reutimann due to time restrictions. The race marked the debuts of 18-year old driver Chase Austin, driving #64 for Rusty Wallace Racing and the second race for former IndyCar racer Dario Franchitti, who drove the #42 car for Chip Ganassi Racing The other importance of the race was Carl Edwards, the Busch Series point leader needed a difference of 585 points over Reutimann to clinch the final "Busch Series" championship that year. This did not occur after a spin occurred on Lap 252 battling Landon Cassill. He would go on to clinch the championship at Texas Motor Speedway, which hosted the next race.
