The song received generally positive reviews, with AllMusic's Tim Sendra praising the song calling it "that's a nicely sassy interlude" also referring it as "the cheerleader hip-hop jammer".[3][4] Rachel Ho of Musichel called "Love Me Like That", a funky track which sees the 20 year old showcase her gargantuan vocal range.[5] It received an mixed review from Amanda Joyce of Portrait Magazine, saying "Not a bad song, but a song that gets old after you listen to it a few times. It's definitely not something you can have on repeat, unlike the rest of the album".[6]
