Kayleigh Rae (born August 11, 1992) is an Scotish professional wrestler who is best know working under the ring name Kay Lee Ray. She is also working in Pro-Wrestling: EVE. On May 4, Ray defeated Viper in the finals of an tournament to become the inaugural Fierce Females Champion, garnering her first professional wrestling title.
Professional wrestling career
[edit]Independent circuit (2009–present)
[edit]On May 4, Ray made her debut for Insane Championship Wrestling: Fierce Females promotion, competing in the tournament to determine the inaugural Fierce Females Champion defeating Rhia O'Reilly in the semi-finals before defeating Viper in the finals to become the inaugural Fierce Females Champion.[1] On August 25, Ray made her first successfully title defensive against Carmel in an Last Woman Standing match.[2] As of September 22, the title was renamed the Scottish Women's Championship.[3] On September 22, Ray successfully defended her title against Amazing Kong and Viper in a triple-treat elimination match.[4]
Ray made her debut for British women's promotion Leicester Championship Wrestling Roses at the Roses Rumble on January 26, facing Erin Angel and Nikki Storm in a triple-treat match with the stipulation that the loser of the fall enters at number one, in which Ray was pinned by Storm.[5] Ray outlasted eleven other women before being eliminated by Viper.[5]
Pro-Wrestling: EVE (2011–present)
[edit]Rae made her debut for women's wrestling promotion Pro-Wrestling: Eve in England on 8 April, 2011, participating in a tournament to crown the promotion's first Pro-Wrestling: Eve Champion, losing to the Alpha Female in a fatal-four way match also involving Carmel Jacobs and Em Jay in the first round.[6] Ray participated in a tournament to determine the number one contender to the title defeating Carmel Jacob in the first round, April Davids in the semi-finals before losing to Nikki Storm in finals.[7] Ray suffered a concussion during the semi-final match.[8] On November 10, Ray unsuccessfully challenged Emi Sakura for the JWP Openweight Championship.[9] On May 26, Ray competed in the “Queen of the Ring” tournament defeating the Alpha Female via count-out before losing to Shanna following an sit-out implant buster.[10]
Japan (2012)
[edit]Ray started her first tour of Japan with officially joined Emi Sakura's Bangkok, Thailand-based Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling promotion on December 20, teaming with Riho in an losing effort against Queens Revolution (Hailey Hatred and Kaori Yoneyama) when Yoneyama pinned Riho.[11][12]
On October 8, 2015 Ray made her WWE NXT debut during an NXT TV taping.
