Lee Seok-Min (Korean: 이석민; born February 18, 1997) better known by his stage name DK (Korean: 도겸)[1] is a South Korean singer under Pledis Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN under "Vocal Team". He is also the leader of special sub-unit "BSS", alongside with Hoshi and Seungkwan. Apart from his group activities he portrayed King Arthur in EMK Musical's 2019 production "Xcalibur"[2].

Early life[edit]

Lee Seokmin was born in Mapo-gu, and spent his early school days in Yongin, after graduating elementary school he moved on to Hongcheon Middle school[3] and after that, graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Seoul[4]. Growing up, he performed in various festivals and achool music competitions.[5]

Career[edit]

2015–present: Debut with Seventeen and solo activities[edit]

Lee joined Pledis entertainment in 2012 and trained for 2 years & 7 months until he debuted as a member of the South Korean boy band, Seventeen with the extended play 17 Carat on May 29, 2015.

On August 9, 2017, Lee featured in Yang Da Il's single "Cinematic Love". Later on, he joined the special sub-unit BSS alongside bandmates Hoshi and Seungkwan, who debuted on March 21, 2018 with the single "Just do it".

Lee has been featured in various soundtracks such as "Missed Connections" (Tempted OST Part.3) (2018), "Is It Still Beautiful" (Hospital Playlist Season 2 OST Part 8) (2021) and "Go!" (Twenty-Five Twenty-One OST Part 5) (2022).

In 2019 he was casted to play the role of King Arthur in EMK Musical's 2019 production Xcalibur, for which he was nominated for the Musical Male Rookie category in the 2019 Stagetalk Audience Choice Awards as well as the Male Rookie Award in the 4th Korea Musical Awards.
