EbonyLife TV is a Nigerian television channel owned by Mo Abudu. It's Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment and Lifestyle network, was launched on June 30, 2013 and began broadcasting on July 1, 2013. It's ranked as one of the most watched channels on the DStv platform by its target demographics across the continent which consist of youth (aged between 18 and 34) and women, EbonyLife TV annually produces over 1000 hours of premium, original, and homegrown Anglo-African entertainment programming to include Talk, Entertainment, Reality, Comedy, Drama, Lifestyle, Factual, among others, of which 80% belongs exclusively to the channel.[1] This makes it the largest self-owned library on the continent. It is currently transmitting to Southern Africa and is channel number 165 on DSTV.

Mo Abudu[edit]

Mo Abudu is the chairman and chief executive of EbonyLife TV, she is also talk show hostess, TV producer, media personality, human resource management consultant and entrepreneur/venture capitalist. Mo is currently the hostess and executive producer of Moments with Mo which holds the pride of place of being the first-ever syndicated daily talk show on African regional television. She has been described by Forbes as "Africa's Most Successful Woman".[2][3]

He has consulted in Kenya and South Africa and delivered papers both in Africa and Europe. He joins the team with responsibility for commercial oversight.
ZAC ALMEIDA DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL OPERATIONS Having been in the Television Broadcast Industry for over 30 years, Zac has extensive knowledge of various broadcast formats. His expertise includes national and international installations and conducting lectures in his field. Individually, he is passionate about his family, golf and music.
MARK SONNENBERG HEAD OF CHANNEL CONSULTANT, PROGRAMMING Mark Sonnenberg is a veteran of over 25 years in the entertainment industry across multiple platforms on both the business management and creative programming side – from broadcast (local and network) to cable (basic and pay) to new media (on-line, video-on-demand, location-based) – many of which were successful start-up operations. He has been an integral part of the management and leadership of various channels and businesses – both large and small as well as corporate and entrepreneurial. Sonnenberg has acquired, developed and overseen the creation of thousands of hours of content and has an excellent reputation within the business and creative communities.
HOWARD BOLTER HEAD OF CHANNEL CONSULTANT, OPERATIONS With an MFA from the University of Southern California and his BA from Fresno State Univ. Howard Bolter was the President and Chief Operating Officer for LATV Networks. Before LATV Howard served 3 years as Sr. Vice President of Network and Production Operations for E! Networks overseeing E! Entertainment Television, style Network and E! International. In addition, Mr. Bolter has served as producer or executive in charge of production for numerous programs distributed on each of the four major networks (ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX) and through syndication, with credits on over 50 different shows, including the pilot for the hit show “Seinfeld.”
SANDRA AMADIO DIRECTOR ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMMING Sandra has produced programming for South Africa’s top rated shows on SABC2 and 3, high end broadcast design and on-air marketing strategies as well as a plethora of documentaries. She headed a digital media content hub, a web business and was the executive producer of DSTV’s Weather Channel. Her sense of adventure and love for travel has taken her to over 30 countries and 100 cities worldwide. She is driven by her instinctive need to trigger positive social change and uplift world-views on Africa.
STEPHAN LE ROUX HEAD OF CREATIVES AND STRATEGY Stephan Le Roux has worked as Creative Director and Media strategist in South Africa Television for more than 15 years. In 2002 he launched Eject Media, a new format, independent television production & broadcast design agency which counts all the leading South African broadcasters as well as a fair number of corporate and government institutions amongst its clients. He launched the successful youth channel Vuzu on DStv, worked on the identity of the FIFA World Cup, helped launching the Coca Cola 2010 logo and worked on SABC 2’s on-air World Cup campaign.
QUINTY PILLAY DIRECTOR, SCRIPTED PROGRAMMING With 28 years experience in the film and television industry in South Africa and Africa and a proven track record in managing multiple projects with results-orientated approach to meet financial and production deadlines, Quinty Pillay is experienced in negotiating and facilitating the specific project requirements. She has worked on many award winning shows including Warner Bros (Feature Film) – “Red Scorpion”, “Great Africa”, “Jobman”, “Toothman and Killer”. A former Supervising producer on MNET’s Tinsel and producer for Endemol’s Malta Guinness Street Dance; Quinty is energetic, versatile and experienced.
HEIDI UYS HEAD OF PROGRAMMING HEIDI UYS is a seasoned television writer and director has developed and produced thousands of hours of award-winning entertainment and reality television series broadcast to millions of viewers across Sub-Saharan Africa based in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.

Heidi specializes in the development and production of fresh entertainment television formats and she has recruited and trained top award-winning production and creative teams across the continent. She has contributed to the growth of a quality television industry in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria since 2008. Heidi is EbonyLife TV’s Head of Programming and will continue to set new horizons with cutting edge programming that is 100% homegrown that viewers across Africa and the globe will choose to watch.

LEONARD NFORMI CONTENT DIRECTOR A graduate of the National Film Institute, (NFI) Jos. He has numerous screen credits in cinematography, sound recording and design, editing as well as producer/director on varied productions. He has worked for CNN, BBC News, BBC World Service, Aljazeera International, DFID, MTVBase, MNeT, World Bank, just to name a few.
AYODELE BASHORUN CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER Ayodele Bashorun is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Auditor, Tax Practitioner, Financial Analyst, and Business Administrator. He was trained by Deloitte (Chartered Accountants) one of the big four accounting firms in the world. He has delivered first class audit and consultancy services to World Health Organization (WHO), United Nation Development Programmes (UNDP), International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in and outside Nigeria at various times, among others. He is versatile and experienced in managing financial and non-financial institutions. He has worked in various countries such as Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, United Kingdom, to mention but a few. He has the right experience and ideas to deliver first class service, and he is saddled with the responsibility to steer the financial ship of Media and Entertainment City Africa.
EUNICE OMOLE CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER In her role as EbonyLife TV’s Chief Strategy Officer, Eunice Omole is responsible for development and implementation of EbonyLife TV’s overall corporate strategy as well as leads the growth of the channel to develop and maintain effective relationships with sponsors, advertisers, agencies, and other partners.

She comes armed with a diverse set of accomplishments in entrepreneurship, investment banking, real estate, private equity, and sales over the last 20 years in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in real estate from Cornell University, a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and has completed extensive MBA coursework at Cornell’s Johnson School of Management.

ESTHER NKEMDIRIM HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER Esther is a HR specialist with over 8 years of diversified experience. She is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, U.K. and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management U.K. Before Ebonylife TV, she worked as an International Benefits specialist for Discovery Channel U.K. for 3 years. Her work experience spans various sectors including legal firms like Norton Rose Fulbright and Simmons & Simmons LLP, plus a stint at Fitch Ratings. She is passionate about empowering others, nurturing creative abilities and developing productive business relationships. She adopts a hands-on approach to instigating HR initiatives that drive the strategic growth of a business.
MICHAEL D. WILLIAMS HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MEDIA SALES Michael is an international marketing consultant and senior manager with extensive experience of creating successful marketing campaigns, running major events, leading sales teams, developing organisations and building partnerships to deliver significant projects. He was the Managing Director of Cross River Tourism Bureau, Consultant Director of McCluskey International, one of the UK’s leading travel PR agencies, and a Director of London Notting Hill Carnival. He wrote the Amazon.com no.1 best-selling book, ‘The More3 Formula, a guide for SMEs to boost their profits with superior customer service.
