Louis H. Ford (March 12, 1935 - March 20, 2018) was an American politician and pest control worker who served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives for the 58th District from his election in 1982 until his early resignation in 2002. His son, Anthony "Ford" Walker, succeeded him.
Early life and career
[edit]Louis H. Ford was born on March 12, 1935, in the unincorporated community of Stampley, Mississippi, to Clay Ford and Vera White.[1][2] He spent much of childhood in Chicago but moved to St. Louis with his grandparents and graduated from Sumner High School.[1][2] After serving two years in the U.S. Army, ford founded L & H Ford Exterminators, a pest control company.[1][2]
Early activism
[edit]Ford was a member of "The Congress of Racial Equality", a civil rights organization, in the early 1960s alongside future member of Congress Bill Clay.
Personal life
[edit]Ford was a 32nd degree Freemason
