Ramblin' about Racin' is a podcast focused on auto racing such as NASCAR, Formula 1, and Indy Car. Ramblin' about Racin' is based in South Carolina and is currently in its 4th season.

History

Ramblin' about Racin' started off as In the Marbles Weekly Racing Podcast by Matt Beamer and Preston Lood in September 2019. Their first episode was released on September 24th 2019.

In the Marbles became a member of the Unhinged Sports Network on October 8th 2020. The Unhinged Sports Network is a online radio network which hosted a number of sports shows such as High Low Sports, Grid Iron Gallery, and The J Dash Show.

In late 2021 The Unhinged Sports Network joined up with Belly Up Sports.

On July 8th 2021, In the Marbles became Ramblin' about Racin' and added Charlie Hercus as a full time host to the show.

Host

Matt Beamer

Matt (the NASCAR Guy) was born in Hawaii in 1986 and has lived in a number of places including Italy, Germany, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Alabama. His farther Doug was a pilot in the United States Army and his mother was a stay at home mom. Matt has a sister named Lisa.

Following the September 11th attacks, Matt joined the United States Marine Corps in 2004 and was stationed in Okinawa Japan attached to 1st Stinger Battery. Matt got out of the Marine Corps in 2008 and moved to Mooresville North Carolina to attend NASCAR Technical Institute. In 2009 Matt finished up his time at NTI, Matt moved to Statesville North Carolina where he was tire tech. In 2010 Matt married his wife Carolina.

Matt then rejoined the Marine Corps and moved to New Orleans LA where he served at Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters. Matt then moved to New Windsor NY and served at Stewart Air National Guard Base. During that time Matt became a volunteer firefighter at Vails Gate Fire Department. Matt also became a EMT for the State of New York.

Matt was discharged in July 2016 and moved to Charleston South Carolina and became a firefighter for the St. John's Fire District.

Preston Lood

Preston was born in Charleston South Carolina and is a graduate of Hahahan High School.

In 2019 Preston joined the St. John's Fire District where he met Matt and came up with the idea of In the Marbles. Over the past few years, Preston has become the "F1 Guy" with the podcast yet continues to be a avid NASCAR fan.

Charlie Hercus

Charlie was born in Mobile Alabama and attended NASCAR Technical Institute with Matt from 2008 through 2009.

In 2011 Charlie joined the Alabama National Guard where he became a recruiter. In 2021 Charlie attended the Army's Drill Sergeant School at Fort Jackson South Carolina.

Charlie currently races in the Cup Lite Series at the South Alabama Speedway.
