Royal Elastics was established in 1996 in Sydney Australia by two teenagers with an interest in street fashion, music and sport. The brand created fashionable athletic shoes which could easily be put-on and removed from the foot by incorporating elastics into the shoes’ closure. Royal Elastics shoes gained popularity in the late nineties as an industry pioneer in what has become called the “ath-leisure” market segment of footwear. The ath-leisure category of modern footwear fuses athletic features and styling with fashion to create causal yet fashion-relevant product.

The Royal Elastics brand was acquired and operated by K-Swiss as a wholly owned subsidiary from 2002- 2009. Most recently, the Royal Elastics brand was purchased in an amicable leveraged transaction from K-Swiss by Royal Elastics Holdings, an investment group led by the company’s long time international creative director, John Bondoc.

The Royal Elastics brand has its central creative offices located in downtown Los Angeles, California and distributes its brand-name apparel, accessories and footwear globally. The products are marketed towards young people pursuing creative lifestyles in art, music and sport. Royal Elastics is a proud supporter of arts education and emerging artists, musicians, and expressive athletes.
