upstateNYer ("upstate New Yorker") is an engineer living in New York, United States. He is a Wikipedian with a wide range of interests and has been pretty active since around summer 2008. He became a sysop in May 2009.

His main interests revolve around school districts in New York, engineering, FPC, VPC, WikiProject Capital District, amateur photography, and articles related to New York and Washington, D.C.. Of late he's been working on articles related to New Netherland and locations within the Capital District.

One of his main hobbies is taking photographs for articles in New York's Capital District. Requests can either be made at his talk page or at the Capital District Wikiproject Image Request page. He's also begun dabbling in some image restoration as well.
