John Bruyns Boarding Establishment

Adjacent to the Gym and Swimming Pool is John Bruyns House Boarding Establishment, named after the then Chairman of the Governing Body, Mr John Bruyns, who was instrumental in the design and building of the establishment in 1994.

It is a small private boarding house that can house ninety-one boarders and five housemasters. It was established to attract boys from outside the immediate North Durban Community, It is primarily a weekly boarding facility but it is open over the weekends to those boarders who come from afar.

The facilities overlook the sports fields with sea views from all rooms. Each boarder has a desk next to his bed where he does his prep, which is done over two sessions in the evening after dinner. The establishment is run by a full-time housemaster, assisted by a team of boarder masters. Catering, cleaning and laundry are outsourced to specialist companies
