Inside Mari (Japanese: ぼくは麻理のなか, Hepburn: Boku wa Mari no Naka) is a Japanese romance and mystery manga series written and illustrated by Shūzō Oshimi. The series is published by Futabasha in Japan and by Denpa in the United States.
Synopsis[edit]
Isao Komori is a college hikikomori who lives alone in his apartment. One day he meets the high school student Mari Yoshizaki who shops in the same konbini and calls her "angel" because of her beauty. Unexpectedly, one day after leaving the same place, he exchanges glances with Mari and the result is that the next morning, Isao is now in her body. Isao begins to live in Mari's house and tries to lead a normal life adapting to the girl's lifestyle. However, his strange behavior causes his family and friends to question his attitude; mainly one of Mari's classmates, Yori Kakiguchi, who doubts that she is really Mari and begins to find out information about her supposed partner's strange attitude.
From now on, Mari and Yori try to find out the truth after the exchange of consciences; Both girls visit the real Isao who does not know the details and Mari herself, calling her crazy. Little by little Isao with Mari's body adapts to the conditions of living under a female body, with the problems that this causes such as physiological needs, the looks of men and their attitude towards their friends and family.

- Isao Komori (小森 功, Komori Isao)
- Isao is a university student who does not attend classes, lives alone and spends most of the day playing video games, surfing the Internet, reading manga and erotic magazines. During his food outings to a nearby konbini, he always meets a very pretty girl whom he nicknames "angel"; One night the two exchange glances after leaving the konbini and the next morning Isao wakes up at Mari's house occupying his body.
- Mari Yoshizaki (吉崎 麻理, Yoshizaki Mari)
- A normal high school student, she's a pretty girl with some friends. She doesn't cause so much trouble at home and she's always late. She usually visits the konbini near her house at night to buy, one day she meets glances with a young man leaving the place, which causes her true identity to disappear and the young man occupies her body.
- Yori Kakiguchi (柿口 依, Kakiguchi Yori)
- A high school student and classmate of Mari's, she has no friends and the rest of the class looks at her as a weirdo. Before the change of consciousness of his partner he did not speak with Mari, he has a certain attraction towards her so he decides to help her after suspecting that she is not the real Mari as always.
