Early life and career[edit]

Amanda-Jane Manning (born 29 May 1979) is a British West End Actress,Singer and Recording Artist born in North West London. [1],Musical Theatre Performer[2] and Recording Artist.

From the age of 7 years old Amanda won a place at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. At 11 she then auditioned and won a place at the prestigious full time Junior School of Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and also the Performing Arts Course.[1] alongside model Kelly Brooke, Steps singer Lisa Scott Lee and actor Daniel Mays and Lucy Speed until the age of 19 years old.

Amanda is best known for her appearences in various Musical Theatre Shows in the West End[3][4],Germany[5],U.S.A[6][7][8] and also as a solo artist on Petula Clark's Album *In Her Own Write singing *My Love Will Never Die for Sepia Records in 2007.[9][10]]]

Amanda made her professional debut aged just 7, when she sang alongside Petula Clark at the The Royal Albert Hall[2] Later she appeared with Sir Peter Ustinov when she played the role of Ruth in Stories From The Bible for an American Television company filmed in London at The Hilton Hotel,London. At 11 years old Amanda made her West End debut in Annie at the Dominion Theatre for The Young Variety Club Of Great Britain

As a child actress Amanda worked appeared in various television shows and commercials from the age of 8 years old including adverts for Nesquick and also for Sindy.[3] Amanda also featured briefly in the Feature Film The Rainbow by D. H. Lawrence Directed by Ken Russell as a orphan which also starred Amanda Donohoe. Amanda also played Schoolgirl cllaed Laura in episode 2 of May To December "Fools Rush In"for BBC Television [4]

In 1994 Amanda also appeared in Grange Hill for BBC Television [11] as the posh school girl Hilary[12] and also appeared in the BBC's The Royal Variety Performance at the Dominion Theatre alongside Brian Connelly, Take That and Shirley Bassey. In 1995 while still at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts Amanda played the role of Diana Morralis in A Chorus Line at Millfield Arts Centre alongside Ross Anthony and Debbie Kurup directed by Bonnie Lythgoe judge on So You Think You Can Dance,Australia.

Musical Theatre career[edit]

After graduating from Italia Conti Academy in 1998-1999 Amanda toured the U.K as a phantom understudying the lead role of Janet Weiss [13] in the International cult hit Musical The Rocky Horror Show Directed by Christopher Malcolm with Jason Donovan and Ross King as Frank n Furter,Laurie Brett as Majenta and Nicholas Parsons as the Narrator for 18 months. The show later transfered to the West End in April 1999 at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

In September 1999 Amanda continued touring with The Rocky Horror Show with actor Darren Day playing the role of Franken n' Furter. Amanda also apeared with the show at The Royal Albert Hall in a concert for Stonewall organised by actor Michael Cashman who was playing the role of the Narrator in the show. Other performers in the Stonewall Concert that year included Sir Elton John, George Michael, [[Jimmy Sommerville,Madeline Bell, Lily Savage, Julian Clary, Boy George and Culture Club, Terry Alderton, Jackie Clune and actor Stephen Fry.[5]

Amanda also appears on the Cast Album The Rocky Horror Show[6] In 2001 Amanda appeared in the Award winning show Spend Spend Spend understudying the lead role of 1960’s pools winner Viv Nicholson. at the prestigious The English Theatre Frankfurt,Germany[7][8]

In 2002 Amanda was then invited to star as Janet Weiss in the European Tour of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show in 2002 directed by Christopher Malcolm

In 2003 Amanda played the leader of the pink ladies “Rizzo” in Grease[9] The Musical alongside Noel Sullivan as Danny and Clare Buckfield as Sandy at the Jersey Opera House[10]

The Royal Academy Of Music[edit]

In 2005 to 2006 Amanda-Jane gained a place at prestigious the Royal Academy of Music in London and spent a year studying new vocal techniques with renowned vocal coach Mary Hammond. Amanda graduated from her P.G Dip in Musical Theatre with Distinction and a DipRAM Award for her outstanding performances in Maury Yeston’s Musical Nine which was musically directed by acclaimed West End conductor Mark Warman. While at the Royal Academy Of Music Amanda also appeared alongside composer Jason Robert Brown at The Players' Theatre in the West End in 2005.[11]

Recording Career and Petula Clark[edit]

In early 2007 Amanda was hand picked by British composer Alexander S. Bermange and Petula Clark to sing Petula Clark’s song “My Love Will Never Die” on her Album “In Her Own Write”[12] Amanda’s rendition of “My Love Will Never Die”released World wide by Sepia Records[13] and was given a rave review on talkingbroadway.com[14] and also on Petula’s own website[15] The Album is also available from Dress Circle (Theatre Shop)[16] and Amazon[17]

Los Angeles and The U.S.A[edit]

In October 2007 Amanda left London for Los Angeles to work alongside Brad Ellis who is the Musical Director for Glee and writer of Forbidden Broadway, Michael Kostroff(Les Misarables,The Producers,Broadway,H.B.O's The Wire) and Hollywood and Broadway Producer Rent, Avenue Q and Director Barbara Epstein The Mickey Mouse Club as Super Nanny in the Worldwide premiere of Twisted T.V a new musical[18]

From September 2009 to May 2011 Amanda appeared as the Green Girl in "Shout! The Mod Musical[19][20] directed by Broadway Director and actress Kim.R.Jordan (the original television series FAME) for N.C.L Productions,based in Miami,U.S.A.

Festival4Stars Judge 2012[edit]

Amanda is now based back in the U.K and will be a Judge at this year's Festival4Stars[27] U.K Nationwide Talent Competition in July 2012.

Personal life[edit]

Amanda briefly dated Ross King between July 2007 and October 2007 before flying to Los Angeles to work for Barbara Epstein Productions. In December 2007 Amanda met her future husband Zsolt Boros whom she married in October 2008 in London. Amanda dated her co star and fellow actor Jamie Tyler from 2001 to 2006 who played Brad,while playing Janet in the European Tour of the Rocky Horror Show. Amanda also had a brief relationship with Darren Day in between October 1999 to December 1999 while working with him on The Rocky Horror Show U.K Tour.
