Alice G. Smith Lecture

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

The Alice G. Smith Lecture is an annual lecture in the field of library and information studies, which is the field I am working in and hope to continue to work in. It is an important academic event to know about for all potential library science students.

Evaluate the article

[edit]

The article begins with two paragraphs describing the history of the lecture series, its prestige, where it is held, and its most recent speakers. The "lead section" is actually the majority of the article, as the rest of the article is comprised of a list of the lecturers and their prestige.

The article is neutral, focusing on a description and list with attributed sources. The sources include numerous academic journals and academic papers. This is an academic article, focused on providing information without embellishment. Some, but not all, of the links work. It is both well-written and well-organized, and the images are properly captioned and well-cited.

The Talk page for this article features only one review, suggesting that perhaps there is less about the lectureship than there should be. But it is an overall neutral review.

Overall, I found little wrong with this page. It is concise, complete, and well-cited. I might improve this page with a little more organization with regard to its subheadings, but overall, it is very good.
