minicabit

minicabit is a taxicab comparison website and mobile app that enables customers and businesses to compare and book quotes for taxicabs within the UK.

Founded in 2010 by its CEO, Amer Hasan, who previously worked for both Vodafone and O2, minicabit now enables bookings in over 40 cities and towns around the UK.

Concept
The concept of the service has been developed to provide a credible way to compare and book a quote for a taxicab trip online. minicabit works with local licenced minicab (Private Hire) firms to provide them with a central platform to list and provide offers on their cab fares.

minicabit has received investment via a number of routes including Telefonica’s Startup Acclerator, Wayra, crowdfunding from Seedrs as well as investment from Hambro Perks, Oakley Capital and a number of private angel investors. In 2014, it was the first mobile app to win offers of investment on BBC TV's Dragons' Den.

minicabit works with over 700 cab firms around the UK and has relationships with a number of key venues and airports including Expedia, The O2 Arena, Wembley Arena, Blenheim Palace, London City Airport and during 2015 UK’s busiest airport London Heathrow.

Tech
The company has various ways of booking including via their website, an Android app, iOS app as well as the Apple Watch.
