Natsarim The word Natsar is Hebrew word guard, watchman, or branch, depending on the context of its use. The plural form for this Hebrew word is Natsarim, and it is the transliteration describing the first followers of Yahusha, Whom the world celebrates as the Messiah under the name Jesus. Speaking Hebrew, Yahusha would have referred to His pupils by the term Natsarim at John 15:5: "I am the Vine (gaphen), and you are the Natsarim (branches). The word Natsarim is translated as "watchmen" at Jeremiah 31:6. The word is found at Acts 24:4, and is the name of the sect [Paul] of Tarsus is called a ringleader. The most commonly used transliteration of the word Natsarim is spelled Nazarenes, however because the word has no letter z, but rather a tsadee (for the "ts" sound), Natsarim is the more accurate form.
