Andrew Kubicz (born 3 October 1981) is an American producer and multi-instrumentalist born in South Elgin, Illinois. He is a graduate of the Elmhurst College School of Music, where he attained a Bachelors Degree in Music Theory/Composition. Since then, has worked in collaboration with Chicago local musicians as a guest producer.[1] In the liner notes of The Individuals' Album Something to Smoke to 2, he was thanked as Andrew "Waldo" Kubicz.[2] According the band's blog, he earned this nickname after admitting that his final project in senior music theory class was a lengthy essay on the Renaissance composer and nobleman Carlo Gesualdo. [3]

More recently, Kubicz teamed up with The Decemberists' Chris Funk and fellow musician/producer Ethan Schreiber to produce and release an upcoming album by Flash Hawk Parlor Ensemble.[4]
